Intercepts the low voltage connector

In the following table you will find the colours and signals of the refrigerator connections of interest.

You can intercept the

You can act on the predisposition

Typically, the wire to be tapped is the violet-coloured wire which is located on Pin 1 of the predisposition connector.

Wiring

The section of interest is DC

In particular, we are going to act on the DC section and the “LOW CURRENT” part, everything else must remain the same

We intercept the purple cable

Cut power to the control section

Removing the positive to the control section (purple = +12V) will prevent the refrigerator from switching on.

Conceptually

Switch on remotely or manually

In a conventional installation, the violet has a voltage set at 12V.

When the power supply is first connected, the refrigerator switches on and automatically searches for the available source (Gas, 220V, +12V).

By having the +12V supplied by the CamperCheck the refrigerator will switch on remotely.

For manual switching, a switch can be provided locally.

Practically

Insert a relay to carry the load.

For correct installation the CamperCheck must drive a relay that will act as an ignition switch for the refrigerator, as shown in the block diagram.

Thetford n3000 series

It always lights up in the car

In the case of Thetford refrigerators of the n3000 and n4000 series, they will always switch on in auto mode as soon as +12V is supplied to the purple wire.
